REAL ESTATE
One of the most momentous decisions people can make in their lifetime is that of purchasing a personal residence. But buying, selling or even renting a home can sometimes be a complex and emotional process, with many unexpected roadblocks encountered along the way. From her humble beginnings as a young real estate graduate of Roosevelt University’s Lawyer’s Assistant Program in 1977, Heather has continued to nurture her interest in real property throughout her ultimate legal and real estate brokerage careers. She firmly believes that her clients benefit from this unique combination of skills and experience, which allows her to analyze real estate transactions from differing points of view.
Whether assisting you in finding the perfect place to hang your hat, marketing a property for sale, or representing your legal interests in an existing real estate transaction (but not both at the same time, to avoid conflict of interest), Heather is the ideal partner. She is a careful listener and an expert problem solver, with a keen eye for detail and an impressive memory. With lightness and humor, she keeps you focused on your goals, even as they may seem to change by the minute!
In contrast to Heather, while Jay certainly has also handled the legal aspects of many residential real estate transactions through the years, he is particularly experienced in complex commercial real estate syndications, and has been called upon to assist with the legal and tax intricacies involved in numerous condominium and hotel/mixed-use developments. His clients especially appreciate his ability and willingness to translate even the most complicated ideas into simpler, more understandable concepts.
Of late, Jay has been spending a great deal of time on a series of bold and innovative hotel expansion projects in downtown Chicago. He relishes the broad range of responsibilities these and similar projects entail, and is grateful to his clients for the trust and confidence they have placed in him to help them navigate the often turbulent waters of urban commercial real estate development.
